Yeh Hai Mohabbatein Going OFF Air?

Few day back, there were reports doing the rounds that Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel starrer Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is all set to bite the dust and will be replaced by its spin-off series Yeh Hai Chahatein, which will have a brand new cast.

But apparently, there's no truth to these reports as Yeh Hai Mohabbatein will continue to air along with its spin-off TV show, much like TV shows Kumkum Bhagya and Kundali Bhagya that are going strong in rating department.

While Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is inspired by Manju Kapoor's novel Custody, Yeh Hai Chahatein, on the other hand, is a remake of Hollywood film Sound of Music. The new show will feature Ishita's extended family.

Ekta's experiment with the spin-off of Kumkum Bhagya has been successful. Kundali Bhagya has, in fact, beat the original show Kumkum Bhagya as far as rating is concerned.

Before Ekta, Gul Khan was the first TV producer to bring a show's spin-off in India. Her show Ishqbaaz got a spin-off Dil Bole Oberoi, but it was soon taken off air after it failed to get the requisite ratings.

Looks like Indian TV has finally opened up to the concept of spin-offs.
